St Emmo unveils new album with blend of top and emerging talent

Story by Farai Gwaze

ZIMBABWEAN producer and artist St Emmo has released his third studio album, titled ‘The Producer’s Album 2, featuring established and upcoming local artists.

After patiently curating the project for three years, St Emmo, who spoke to ZBC News in Harare this Friday, is excited to share his musical masterpiece with the world.

He describes this album as unique, featuring a mix of established and upcoming local artists.

“The significance of launching this album today is that it is my third album and it took me three years to complete. This album is significant because I have managed to feature a lot of Zimbabwean artists on it. It is my first major collaboration album with various artists like Jah Prayzah, Gemma Griffiths, Sylent Nqo and Josh Meck and they are quite established.

“Then we have got upcoming guys like Carlo, who is a guitarist and very good vocalist, Jackie who goes by Zherklin and we have also got Jay Afrik and another young kid called Stan C from Chegutu, who is a really good rapper. For now, I have a few singles that I have done, I have worked with Nutty O, and Shinsoman and I am still open to working with a lot of artists. Poptain is also on the album among other guys,” Ommo said.

The 15-song album has many anticipated hit songs, with all featuring other artists.

“On this album, I have four hits that are lined up, the first one is “MaBlesser” with Jay Afrik, the second one is “Faded” with Josh Meck, and the third one is “Heat” with Poptain. I am so excited about them, especially those guys who like dancehall and reggae, it has got that kind of summerish feel. Then the fourth one is going to be “Higher” by Zherklin, so that is the lineup of the next singles people should be expecting to hear,” he added.

The album seamlessly blends genres including Alternative, Afrobeats, Hip Hop, Pop, New Age and Jazz Hip-hop.
