ZIMBABWE’S leading professional golfer Scott Vincent has secured qualification for the prestigious 2025 US Open Golf Championship, following an impressive performance at the Final Qualifier held at Tarao Country Club in Japan on Monday.

Vincent finished the qualifier with a score of 10-under-par, tying with local favourite Yuta Sugiura, who was declared the overall winner on countback.

The strong showing earned Vincent one of the limited qualifying slots available, confirming his place among the world’s elite golfers at this year’s US Open.

The 2025 edition of the US Open Championship is scheduled to take place at the iconic Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania, USA, in June.

The achievement marks another milestone for Vincent, who has steadily risen through the ranks of international golf, representing Zimbabwe on the global stage with distinction.

He has previously featured in majors and international circuits such as the LIV Golf League, Asian Tour, and Japan Golf Tour.

Golf enthusiasts across the country will be closely following his progress at Oakmont, as Vincent looks to make a meaningful impact at one of the sport’s most prestigious events.

Vincent’s qualification serves as a boost to local golf and underlines Zimbabwe’s continued presence in the international sporting arena.
