LAST night was all glitz and glamour at the Harare Hippodrome as 26-year-old Lyshanda Moyas who represented the midlands province was crowned The Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2025.

2024 Miss Universe Zimbabwe Sakhile Dube handed over the crown to 26-year-old beauty Lyshanda Moyas from Midlands who dazzled both judges and audience with her poise, intelligence, and passion for social change.

Outshining eight other finalists, Lyshanda Moyas was named Miss Universe Zimbabwe 2025 in a spectacular ceremony filled with fashion, and music, and attended by high-profile guests.

South African actress and businesswoman, Connie Ferguson who was Guest of Honour, shared her personal journey of transformation through pageantry.

“Many years ago in Botswana, when I had my opportunity to enter a pageant and I won that moment catapulted me to go to Johannesburg and pursue the dreams that I ended up pursuing and becoming who I am today. So it’s a great opportunity. When used properly, these girls can live their dreams, they can make an impact, and change lives,” she said.

Judges included industry veterans and former title holders, all seeking not just a queen but a role model.

Lyshanda who is not a new face in the pageantry industry after being crowned Miss Intercontinental Zimbabwe 2021 and a Miss Zimbabwe 2022 finalist, walked away with a Mercedes Benz C200 among other prizes.

She is set to represent Zimbabwe at the Miss Universe pageant in Thailand later this year.
