ENGINEER Matthias Chakanyuka has been appointed substantive Chief Executive Officer of the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ).
In a statement, BAZ said Engineer Chakanyuka brings more than two decades of institutional experience, having joined BAZ in 2004 and risen through several senior technical and executive positions.
“Engineer Chakanyuka joined BAZ in 2004 as an Engineer and has served the Authority with distinction in several leadership positions, including Technical Manager, Director of Technical Services and Acting Chief Executive Officer,” the statement said.
The authority described Engineer Chakanyuka as a seasoned broadcasting engineer with extensive expertise in engineering, regulation and infrastructure development.
“A career broadcast engineer, Engineer Chakanyuka brings extensive experience and expertise in broadcasting engineering, regulation and infrastructure development,” read the statement in part.
BAZ said Engineer Chakanyuka has played a significant role in the growth of Zimbabwe’s broadcasting sector.
“He has played a key role in advancing Zimbabwe’s broadcasting sector and is widely respected for his technical knowledge, strategic leadership and commitment to the growth of the industry, both locally and internationally,” the statement said.
