THE late Major General (Retired) Evaristo Dzihwema has been declared a National Hero and will be buried at the National Heroes Acre on Monday.
President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa will preside over the burial of the National Hero at the National Heroes Acre on Monday.
Major General (Rtd) Dzihwema died in India on Thursday last week where he was receiving medical treatment.
Meanwhile, a funeral parade has been held in his honour at Charles Gumbo Barracks in Harare this Friday.
Chief mourner, Commander Zimbabwe Defence Forces, General Emmanuel Matatu described the late general as a patriot.
The late Major General (Rtd) Dzihwema occupied several high ranking positions in the ZDF, and served as Chief Director in the Ministry of Youth and later in the Ministry of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Affairs.
He was also a member of the Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Board.
He is survived by his wife Alice Dzihwema and three children.
