OPENING batter Innocent Kaia has been rewarded for his outstanding form after earning a place in Zimbabwe’s 15-man squad for the three-match One-Day International series against Bangladesh.

Kaia, who recently struck his maiden Test century in Zimbabwe’s historic innings-and-85-run victory over Bangladesh, returns to the ODI setup alongside Ben Curran and Brian Bennett in the top order.

The series will also mark a new chapter for the Chevrons, with Richard Ngarava captaining the ODI side for the first time.

He will be supported by experienced campaigners Craig Ervine and Sikandar Raza, who are back after playing franchise cricket.

Ngarava will spearhead a pace attack that includes Blessing Muzarabani, Brad Evans, Newman Nyamhuri and Ernest Masuku, while Ryan Burl, Wessly Madhevere and Wellington Masakadza provide the spin options.

Zimbabwe will host Bangladesh in the three-match ODI series at Harare Sports Club on July 6, 9 and 11 as they look to carry the momentum from their memorable Test triumph into the 50-over format.
