NATIONAL career, Air Zimbabwe has managed to get a clean audit as its road to recovery continues.

In its post judicial management era, the national flag carrier continues to make significant strides towards profitability as operational losses are going down, while the firm got a clean audit in its latest annual report, the first time to earn such a feat after a number of years.

Air Zimbabwe Chief Executive Officer, Mr Edmund Makona mentioned several milestones made by the national career at this year’s Annual General Meeting held in Harare on Friday.

He said, “This is the first time in a very long time that Air Zimbabwe has managed to get a clean audit. We have also made sure that we reduce losses and very soon, the airline will return to profitability.”

However, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Transport and Infrastructural Development, Honourable Knowledge Kaitano said management still has a lot to do for the national airline to resume making profits.

“Of course the national airline is making huge progress, but we note the need for urgent interventions to turn to profitability and increase the fleet so that it can increase its profitability.”

The national airline is working towards launching previously served routes including the popular Harare-London route which was a significant cash cow in the 90s.
