President Emmerson Mnangagwa will this Thursday commission the Bindura University PALPO Technologies, a production plant which assembles laptops, tablets and cellphones.
The gadgets assembled at this plant are expected to be sold at affordable prices as compared to imports, making them more accessible for students, among other users.
At full capacity, the factory can produce up to 12 000 laptops as well as tablets and 3 000 phones.
The establishment of this plant is an answer to the calls for tertiary institutions to be involved in the country’s production.
