ZIMBABWE’S footgolfers have announced themselves as a rising force after a dominant showing at the University of Zambia Footgolf Tournament over the weekend.
The team returned home with six gold medals in most categories, a strong signal of intent as they prepare for the Senior World Cup in Mexico this May and the Junior World Cup in Germany in July.
Head of Delegation, Juliana Chihora says the performance reflect growing confidence and steadily improving scores, adding that Zimbabwe is aiming to compete, not just participate, against more than 70 nations expected at the World Cups.
Zimbabwean players topped the junior boys and girls divisions, swept the women’s and senior women’s categories, and also claimed top honours in the senior men plus section, while recording podium finishes in the men’s and senior men’s events.
