Vice President Kembo Mohadi has arrived in Iran ahead of the inauguration ceremony of Iranian president-elect, Dr Masoud Pezeshkian to be held this Tuesday.
Vice President Kembo Mohadi arrived at the Merhabad Airport in the capital city Tehran this Monday evening and was received by Zimbabwe’s envoy to Iran, Ambassador Bright Kupemba, Iran’s envoy to Zimbabwe, Ambassador Abbas Navazani,Chief Adviser to the President on the Middle East Affairs, Ambassador Mahomed Jassat, Mr Alireza Masoumi, Director of Southern Africa in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and several senior government officials.
The Vice President is accompanied by Permanent Secretary in his office Dr Benson Martins Dube.
On behalf of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Vice President Mohadi’s visit attests the commitment between Harare and Tehran, to strengthen leadership-level engagement and bilateral cooperation.
Zimbabwe is among high level international delegates, including ten presidents, prime ministers, vice presidents and special envoys, attending the inauguration ceremony.
Vice President Mohadi is also expected to meet the new Iranian President to further consolidate the bond between Iran and Zimbabwe that will cement mutual interests and unlock opportunities between the two countries.
