THE Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) has announced that its First Annual General Meeting will be held in Harare on June 17, bringing together stakeholders to review the organisation’s performance, governance and financial standing.

According to a statement issued by the authority, the meeting will focus on key corporate and financial matters covering the 2023-2024 reporting period.

Acting Corporate Secretary Mr B Tshevo said the agenda includes presentations of the Chairperson’s Report and the Chief Executive Officer’s Report, as well as consideration of audited financial statements.

“The agenda covers the Chairman’s report and the Chief Executive Officers’ reports. The meeting will also cover audited financial statements, which note the re-appointment of the Auditor General as the External Auditor, governance and compliance report,” he said.

The meeting is also expected to consider and ratify board fees and sitting allowances payable to non-executive directors.

A closing statement by the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry will outline priorities and strategic plans for the coming year and beyond.

The Annual General Meeting forms part of ZTA’s governance framework and provides an opportunity to assess performance, strengthen accountability and chart the way forward for Zimbabwe’s tourism sector.
