Sugar Sugar Boys eye Champions Cup

Triangle United Football Club are gunning for glory when they play Kwekwe United in the first semi-final of the Champions of Champions tournament slated for Bata Stadium in Gweru this weekend.

Popularly known as the Sugar Sugar Boys, Triangle United made a swift return to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after being crowned champions in the Eastern Region division one League last Sunday.

“We are happy that we managed to return to PSL. Well we look forward to the Champions of Champions tournament and we want to bring the trophy home. We have been training, we only rested on Monday because we had a match here on Sunday. It will not be easy but we will win. The tournament is a perfect platform for us to actually prepare for the upcoming season and we will learn a lot,” said Mr Weston Jemwa, Triangle United Football Club chairperson.

Triangle will face Central Region champions Kwekwe United, while Scottland FC who were promoted from the Northern Region take on Southern region champions ZPC Hwange in the second semi-final.

The winners of the semi-finals will clash in the final on Sunday.
