SIKANDAR Raza has become Zimbabwe’s most-capped international cricketer after making his 314th appearance during the Chevrons’ four-wicket defeat to Bangladesh in the third and final T20 International at Queens Sports Club.
The milestone sees Raza surpass former Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza, who retired with 313 international appearances.
Since making his international debut against Bangladesh at Queens Sports Club on 3 May 2013, Raza has represented Zimbabwe in 22 Test matches, 156 One-Day Internationals and 136 T20 Internationals.
In a fitting twist, the all-rounder achieved the record against the same opposition and at the same venue where his international career began more than 13 years ago.
The achievement further cements Raza’s place among Zimbabwe cricket’s most enduring and accomplished players.
