Harare-London air link returns as Air Zimbabwe resumes UK service

Story by John Nhandara

NATIONAL flag carrier Air Zimbabwe has today launched its Harare-London service, restoring a direct air link between the two cities after a 14-year hiatus.

The revival of the airline’s flagship route is expected to boost tourism, trade and investment while improving connectivity for travellers between Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom.

The service will also provide a direct travel option for Zimbabweans living in the UK, who have relied on connecting flights through Europe, the Middle East and regional hubs since the route was suspended.

Air Zimbabwe said the route will operate three flights a week, linking Harare with London Gatwick South Terminal.

The airline expects the service to offer passengers a more convenient, seamless and reliable travel experience between Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom.
