THE Chevrons surrendered the T20 International series 2-1 after losing the deciding match to Bangladesh by four wickets at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on Sunday.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Zimbabwe struggled to build partnerships and were restricted to 143, despite a fighting half-century from Dion Myers.
Bangladesh’s bowlers maintained disciplined lines and lengths throughout the innings to keep the hosts under pressure.
In reply, the visitors paced their chase effectively, with Tanzid Hasan anchoring the innings with a composed half-century as Bangladesh reached 144 for six to secure victory and claim the series.
Zimbabwe’s chances were undermined by costly dropped catches, allowing Bangladesh to seize the initiative and complete the successful chase.
Chevrons head coach Justin Sammons said the missed chances in the field proved decisive.
“If you are dropping catches like this, you’re bound to face a tough time. That’s the nature of the game,” he said.
Bangladesh captain Towhid Hridoy hailed the victory after a closely contested series.
“Every win is very good for the team. It was a very challenging series for us, but we are happy with the result today,” he said.
The Chevrons will now shift their focus to the upcoming home series against India, which begins later this month.
