THE Johane Marange Apostolic Church has reaffirmed its support for President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa, commending his administration’s commitment to the growth and empowerment of indigenous churches in Zimbabwe.

Church leaders made the remarks during the church’s annual Passover gathering at Mafararikwa in Marange on Saturday, where they said the relationship between the Government and indigenous churches remains strong and continues to contribute to national development and improved livelihoods.

The church leaders described President Dr Mnangagwa as a God-fearing leader who recognises the role of faith in national leadership and governance.

“Zimbabwe is blessed to have a God-fearing leader, and the President is also proud to lead a God-fearing nation,” said one preacher.

The church also reaffirmed its support for the country’s leadership.

“We will continue to support and rally behind President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa’s leadership. That is what our Priest has taught us,” said another preacher.

Church leaders also acknowledged ongoing developments within the Johane Marange Apostolic Church under its current leadership.

“Our Priest is doing a lot of improvements at this church. We are grateful for the visit of the President, who is always here to witness our achievements,” another preacher said.

The Johane Marange Apostolic Church was founded in 1915. Following the death of Noah Taguta in 2022, his son, St Nimrod, was ordained as the church’s leader and continues to preside over its annual Passover gatherings in Marange.
