FARM land distribution and urban settlement regularisation came under the spotlight during this Wednesday’s National Assembly question and answer session.
“The law is now explicit that no land or farm distribution is allowed outside the purview of the DDC PDC and Minister of State, all those parcelling out land are doing it illegally,” said the Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development,” Honourable Anxious Masuka.
Legislators also quizzed the government standing on the regularization of urban settlements.
“The President auctioned the issuance of title deeds in urban areas like Epworth. We have had meetings over title deeds regularisation and sanitisation of settlement underway,” responding Honourable Masuka.
Government also spoke on modalities to boost the mass transport system to reduce road carnage during the forthcoming festive season.
“Use of mshikashika is being aided by the absence of enough buses, but that’s is what we are working on together with ministry of local government and then working on urban tram,” said the Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Hon Felix Mhona.
Other issues debated include the involvement of Mutapa Investment Fund in resuscitation of industry.
