President Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected in Masvingo this Sunday for the inagural Munhumutapa Day Celebrations.
The Munhumutapa Day, a brainchild of the ZANU PF Youth League, has been set aside to celebrate President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s birthday as he turns 82 and honour him for his leadership qualities that have seen him transforming the country’s fortunes for the better.
Thousands of people including youths from across the country are expected to attend the event.
A number of programmes are lined up for the day including the launch of the Munhumutapa Housing Scheme Project for the youths in Victoria Range Extension Surbub of Masvingo by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The housing project will be replicated in all the country’s 10 provinces benefitting youths with fully serviced residential stands.
After the housing project launch, President Mnangagwa is expected to officially launch the Munhumutapa Day at Great Zimbabwe Monuments.
In the evening, an all night gala will be held at Nemamwa grounds with a number of artistes from across the country perfoming.
These include Sungura Maestro Alick Macheso, Killer T, Sulumani Chimbetu, Seh Calaz, Enzo Ishall, Chief Hwenje, Iyasa, Sandra Ndebele, Andy Muridzo and many others.
The ZANU PF Youth League says President Mnangagwa has perfectly embodied the spirit of the great Munhumutapa an ancient leader, accredited for building the Great Zimbabwe monuments, through his philosophy that the country is built by its own people, brick upon brick and stone upon stone.
