THE Mighty Warriors Coach Sithethelelwe “Kwinji 15” Sibanda is not taking any chances ahead of the 2024 COSAFA Women’s Championship set for South Africa next month with the gaffer set to announce a strong squad this Friday.
The Mighty Warriors will face off with Lesotho and Mozambique in Group D at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in South Africa.
The tournament will run from the 22nd of this month to the 2nd of November.
In a written response to ZBC News, the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) confirmed that the list has been received from the technical team and will be announced after the Warriors’ AFCON qualifier against Namibia.
The Mighty Warriors are gunning for their second COSAFA title, having triumphed in 2011.
This year’s tournament features 14 teams including defending champions, Malawi.
The other teams are Zimbabwe, Eswatini, Mozambique, Lesotho, Namibia, Seychelles, Botswana, Mauritius, Madagascar, Comoros, Zambia, Angola and hosts South Africa vying for honours as four group winners progress to the semi-finals.
Meanwhile, the Mighty Warriors are expected to go into camp this Sunday.
