The Masvingo Provincial Agricultural show which roared to life this Thursday has been described by exhibitors as an opportunity to learn about new trends and technologies especially in the agricultural sector given threats of climate change.

More than 120 exhibitors are showcasing various products at this year’s Masvingo provincial Agricultural Show.

Exhibitors say the platform has enabled them to lure clients and forge partnerships that ensure growth of their businesses.

“We are happy to be part of this year’s show and it is our first time exhibiting. We have seen a lot of people coming to our stand for inquiries and we expect improved business after the show,” said an exhibitor.

“As farmers, this is an opportunity for us to learn, remember issues around climate change and in many cases smallholder farmers are the most affected, hence we take this platform as an opportunity to learn,” noted a farmer.

Organisers of the show said this year’s edition of the provincial show has surpassed their target with exhibitors from other provinces coming to support them.

“We are excited that this year, our programme is oversubscribed, we have 122 exhibitors excluding vendors. We are more organised than previous editions and our theme is in line with the country’s vision of ensuring growth of our industries,” said one of the organisers, Mrs Fadzai Jirivengwa.

This year’s edition of the show is running under the theme, “Moving towards economic development and growth”.
