WOMEN’S empowerment and community development dominated discussions at the Mugodhi Apostolic Faith Church Women’s Conference in Buhera on Tuesday, attended by the ZANU PF Manicaland Women’s League and the War Veterans League.
Addressing congregants, ZANU PF Manicaland Women’s League Chairperson Cde Dorothy Mabika underscored the role of women in national development, saying the Second Republic remains committed to supporting grassroots economic empowerment and sustainable development in rural communities.
“Women are the backbone of our communities, and when we empower a woman, we empower an entire nation. Under the leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the Second Republic is fully committed to ensuring that women in rural communities like Buhera have direct access to economic opportunities, training, and resources to build sustainable livelihoods,” she said.
ZANU PF Manicaland War Veterans League Chairperson Cde Linda Matatu commended the church for promoting unity, peace and strong moral values among women.
“Encourage our women to actively participate in developmental initiatives and safeguard the gains of our liberation struggle by building strong, self-reliant households,” she said.
The Mugodhi Apostolic Faith Church reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Government programmes aimed at promoting peace and national development.
“Spiritual growth must be complemented by social and economic progress. We are grateful to the ZANU PF Women’s League leadership for visiting us here in Buhera, engaging our members on practical empowerment initiatives that will help our women become independent,” Mrs Theresa Nhaitai said.
Archbishop Bishop Phillip Musuva said the church remained committed to supporting national development.
“We stand firmly behind President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa, his government, and the ruling ZANU PF party. The Bible teaches us to respect and pray for our national leadership, and we fully support the country’s Vision 2030 agenda,” he said.
The conference highlighted the growing collaboration between religious organisations and the ruling ZANU PF party in promoting peace, community development and women’s empowerment in support of Vision 2030.
