A 29-year-old Norton man appeared before a Harare Magistrate facing fraud charges after allegedly posing as an employee of Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals to secure a US$29 000 loan.
Tawanda Jokonya is accused of misleading Yambukai Finance by presenting falsified documents, including forged employment confirmation letters, payslips from Parirenyatwa Hospital, PSMAS records, and vehicle registration books, to obtain the loan.
The court heard that Jokonya misrepresented facts and used fraudulent documents to secure the funds, prejudicing the micro-finance institution.
He is expected back in court this Tuesday for his bail application.
