INSIZA NORTH -THE ruling ZANU PF party officially launched its campaign for the Insiza North constituency by-election this Saturday at Sweet Home in Shangani, with senior leadership rallying party supporters and outlining the development milestones achieved under the Second Republic.

The party is backing Cde Delani Moyo, whom it describes as a dedicated cadre committed to advancing President Mnangagwa’s inclusive development agenda.

“If you look at the calibre of our candidate, you see that we are serious about development. Cde Delani is a committed ZANU PF cadre, and is following the policies of President that seeks to have inclusive development and the work that is already being done by Cde Delani is a clear demonstration that he will do a lot to transform this community,” ZANU PF Mat. South Provincial Chairperson, Mangaliso Ndlovu said.

The area has benefited from significant infrastructure development, including the drilling of 14 boreholes, road rehabilitation, installation of a mobile network base station, and the provision of ICT equipment to schools.

ZANU PF Politburo member Cde Richard Ndlovu expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, citing the strong support base and the turnout at the campaign launch, particularly among the youth.

“Insiza North has a future. The turnout here shows that we are assured of victory. We are confident that you will deliver the seat to ZANU PF because it is rightfully ours,” he said.

National Political Commissar, Cde Munyaradzi Machacha, urged supporters to turn out in large numbers on polling day, linking the ZANU PF-led development efforts to President Mnangagwa’s national vision of “leaving no one and no place behind.”

“In your constituency you are seeing boreholes being drilled, roads being graded, there is stand a drilling rig that has been purchased for the province so that you have water in this area. Before the end of the week we should have eight solarised boreholes. These are the works of ZANU PF, the works of President Mnangagwa . So when you are voting for Delani, you are voting for ZANU PF, you are voting for a party that brings development to the citizenry. You are voting for a party with a mission to have an empowered society. President Mnangagwa’s vision is to see to it that there will be no place left behind. In a week you are going to have network in this area,” he said.

The by-election, scheduled for June 14, will see four candidates contesting the seat:

Cde Delani Moyo (ZANU PF)

Mr Mbongeni Moyo (Independent)

Mr Leslie Dube (Independent)

Mr Thabani Mlotshwa (ZAPU)

The seat became vacant following the death of Cde Farai Taruvinga in March this year.
