Concern has been raised over rising cases of road traffic accidents involving school children.
On Wednesday this week, a train collided with a school bus in Mutare, injuring several students, while a grade five student sustained injuries after being hit by a car in Glen Norah, Harare on the same day.
The accidents come weeks after another one, which killed a student at Falcon College in Esigodini, hence calls by parents for increased measures to protect school children on the road.
Some transporters of school children have warned their peers to exercise extreme caution on the road.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) National Spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed that accidents involving school children are worrying, adding that a comprehensive quarterly report will be released next week.
