BIKITA Minerals head coach, Wilson Mutekede, has expressed satisfaction with the club’s ongoing rebuilding exercise following the departure of eight key players.
Having narrowly avoided relegation in their debut Premier Soccer League (PSL) season last year, the Lithium Boys have shown steady improvement in the current 2025 campaign, notching two wins and five draws so far.
This progress has encouraged Coach Mutekede to believe the club is laying a solid foundation for long-term competitiveness.
“We are not overly concerned about our current league position. What matters is the progress these young players have shown. They have managed to stand toe-to-toe with former champions away from home. It is a virtually new squad with no big names, but the commitment and growth we are witnessing is commendable.”
Mutekede added that while there is still work to be done, the team has the potential to surprise many this season.
“We are still a work in progress, but we will certainly give other teams a good run for their money,” he said.
The Lithium Boys demonstrated their resilience last weekend, holding FC Platinum to a one-all draw at Mandava Stadium.
