CHIREDZI-BASED hip-hop artist BoB HucCi is making waves on the local music scene after his latest single Goodlife attracted nearly 200,000 views on YouTube in less than a month.
The 27-year-old rapper, born Robert Chinembiri, has kicked off 2026 on a high note, positioning himself as one of the emerging voices in Zimbabwean hip-hop. His latest release, a collaboration with “Handinyore” hitmaker Mr Attention is gaining traction across digital platforms.
BoB HucCi said his journey into music began in high school but only gathered pace after completing his studies.
“I began my music journey when I was still in high school. I always loved to make music, but because of school, I could not really be serious. Now, after graduating from college, I am fully concentrating on my music,” he said.
“When people hear Chiredzi, I want them to know the place is more than just sugarcane estates but a hub for talent as well.”
He described Goodlife as an inspirational track encouraging hard work and ambition.
“This song is more of an inspiration for people to work hard towards a flexible life, reminding each other to work hard for the good life we all want. Soon I will be starting to have live shows,” he said.
Beyond entertainment, the rapper said he intends to use his platform to address social issues affecting young people.
“As a young person, I want to ensure that as people listen to my music, they learn something. I want to use the platform to encourage other young people to stay away from drugs but rather focus on creating a better life for themselves,” he added.
BoB HucCi is set to release his debut album, BoB’s Genesis, in August. With his latest single gaining momentum, the Chiredzi artist says he hopes to one day be counted among Zimbabwe’s top hip-hop acts.
