STRUGGLING giants CAPS United face another stern test of character when they host defending Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions Simba Bhora at Rufaro Stadium this Sunday.
Makepekepe are enduring a season to forget after a slow start. They have lost six of the twelve matches they have played so far, but since making managerial changes they have managed two one-all draws.
With former midfield maestro Ian Bakala looking for his first win as Makepekepe boss he faces a Simba Bhora side that is starting to live up to the early season hype after acquiring some of the best players in the land.
Last season the Shamva-based side beat their fancied opponents back-to-back and will be looking for more of the same.
The match also has an added spice of the Simba Bhora president, Simba Ndoro a well-known CAPS United fan before he started his own project and it’s no surprise why his team wears green.
Even though the two sides are at different ends of the log, the encounter promises much and looks to be closely contested on Sunday.
Action, however, kicks off on Friday with Scottland looking to get past Chicken Inn and temporarily occupy the top spot before current leaders MWOS travel to Chisumbanje on Saturday for a date against Green Fuel who are undefeated at home.
On the same day, out-of-sorts Ngezi Platinum Stars host Dynamos at Baobab Stadium, while FC Platinum travel to the capital for a date against Yadah at the Heart Stadium.
Kwekwe United battle TelOne in a low-key Midlands derby, while Bikita Minerals face ZPC Kariba to conclude the day’s fixtures.
Sunday sees Highlanders up against Herentals at Barbourfields while Triangle host Manica Diamonds at Gibbo to conclude match-day 13 fixtures.
