Can club greats revive Bosso? Highlanders begin Botswana tour

Story by Mthokozisi Dube

BULAWAYO giants Highlanders F.C. have left the country for a 10-day pre-season tour in Botswana, setting up base in Gaborone as preparations intensify for the new campaign.

The trip marks a key phase in Bosso’s rebuild, with the club bolstering its technical bench through the return of former player and coach Bekithemba Ndlovu.

Ndlovu has been re-appointed as second assistant coach and will work under head coach Benjani Mwaruwari. His return adds further experience to a technical set-up that already includes club legends Zenzo Moyo and Mkhokheli Dube, figures closely associated with Highlanders’ past successes.

The growing presence of former greats in the dugout has sparked debate among supporters, with questions being raised over whether the blend of nostalgia and experience can steer Bosso back to their glory days.

The Botswana camp is expected to provide the technical team with an opportunity to assess combinations, sharpen fitness levels and instil tactical discipline ahead of the season.
