Bosso target champions

Story by Mthokozisi Dube

Battle lines have been drawn in the epic encounter pitting Highlanders and defending champions Ngezi Platinum Stars set for Barbourfields Stadium this Sunday.

The home side collected maximum points in first leg but Sunday’s encounter is a different ball game altogether as Ngezi Platinum are motivated by the presence of Obriel Chirinda upfront and would want to embark on the CAF Champions League in style.

Highlanders head coach Kelvin Kaindu is aware Sunday’s clash will require a strong character among his players.

“We are doing well for the fixture against Ngezi despite those set backs on the injured players who include Never Rauzhi who picked up some knocks. It’s a game we want to win to turn our form at home. We haven’t been doing well at home,” he said.

New Highlanders striker Nqobile Ndlovu is optimistic of carrying his form to the next encounter after finding the back of the net in their previous encounter against Chegutu Pirates.

“It’s important for us to get three points, so I will do my best to score because my job is to score.”

Highlanders are sweating over the fitness of striker Never Rauzhi who will have to pass a late fitness test after partaking in light training.

The two sides are separated by a point, making Sunday’s clash a titanic duel with both sides looking to continue piling pressure at the top.
