THE Bonaqua Africa Triathlon Cup is set to be held on March 8, at its usual venue, the Troutbeck Resort in Nyanga.
The event draws elite triathletes from across the world who will be vying for ranking points to qualify for other global events and the upcoming 2028 Olympic Games.
Youngsters will also be battling to be continental champions in the Junior Africa Cup.
Zimbabwe has predominantly featured athletes in the Junior Africa Cup but they have struggled for representation in the Elite categories.
Andy Kuipers, who represented the country at the African Games last year is a major doubt this year because of college commitments.
Outside the professional competitions, the Bonaqua Africa Triathlon Cup will feature swimming, cycling, and running categories, catering to athletes of all skill levels.
This year’s event aims not only to promote fitness and competition but also to bolster sports tourism.
