SIMBA Bhora’s survived defeat by a whisker after netting a late goal to force a dramatic one-all draw against CAPS United in a Castle Lager Premier League fixture played at Wadzanayi Stadium this Saturday.

Shamva erupted in celebration as 17-year-old winger Cole Tsamba announced himself on the big stage with a stoppage-time equaliser that snatched a point for Simba Bhora in a pulsating encounter.

Ironically, in a Battle of the Greens where neither side wore green, the match delivered drama from start to finish with controversial officiating, heated exchanges, and moments of brilliance at both ends of the pitch.

Referee Nelson Meke found himself at the centre of attention after initially awarding Simba Bhora a first-half penalty before overturning the decision two minutes later following furious protests from CAPS United players.

But Tsamba ultimately stole the headlines. Introduced just five minutes earlier, the teenage sensation turned the game on its head when he fired past goalkeeper Wallace Magalane at the near post in the 91st minute to score his maiden top-flight goal and rescue Simba Bhora from defeat.

“I am so excited to have rescued a point. The important thing is to help the team do well, and that is what I managed. The coach told me to go in the match and change the situation, and I am happy I managed to do that,” Simba Bhora forward Cole Tsamba said.

CAPS United had looked set for maximum points after Lloyd Njaliwa’s spectacular acrobatic finish gave Makepekepe the lead in the first half, beating impressive Simba Bhora goalkeeper First Gandani.

However, Makepekepe will be worried about conceding at the death twice in succession.
