A funeral parade for the late Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) senior officer Lieutenant Colonel Tapera Mpahlo has been held at Charles Gumbo Barracks in Harare this Thursday.
Delivering a eulogy on behalf of Commander Zimbabwe National Army, Lieutenant General Anselm Sanyatwe, Brigadier General Milton Vudzijena said the nation has been robbed of an honest man.
“The ZNA has lost a dedicated and humble officer. The gap he left will be very difficult to fill. I say to you rest in peace, go well son of the soil. On behalf of the Commander Zimbabwe National Army, officers, men and women of the Zimbabwe National Army I would like to pay my deepest condolences to the bereaved family. The passing on of the late senior officer has not only robbed you of a loving son, father, brother and a caring relative but the Zimbabwe National Army has lost a dedicated and humble senior officer,” he said.
Lieutenant Colonel Mpahlo died on the 20th of August at Charles Gumbo Camp Hospital.
Throughout his distinguished military career, Lieutenant Colonel Mpahlo held various esteemed positions within the ZNA and the ZDF at large, demonstrating exceptional leadership and dedication to service.
At the time of death, he was the Staff Officer (Grade One) at the Zimbabwe Defence Forces Funeral Parlour responsible for VVIP funerals in the Northern Region.
Lieutenant Colonel Mpahlo will be buried this Friday at Glen Forest Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
