THE World Food Programme (WFP) has reported that famine is imminent in Northern Gaza.
WFP Country Director in Palestine, Matthew Hollingworth says about 70% of the population in North Gaza is facing catastrophic hunger with parents going for days without eating for the sake of their children.
The WFP confirmed that by Tuesday this week, it only managed to send 11 convoys with food, just enough to feed 74 000 people.
Around 1.45 million people in Gaza are, however, in need of food each month.
The WFP and its partners have reported that they have enough food supplies to feed all 2.2 million people across Gaza if Israel allows more access into the war-torn zone.
The Gaza-Israel conflict started in October last year.
