ZIMBABWE Defence Forces (ZDF) continues to enhance its operational effectiveness and leadership capacity following the graduation of 69 commissioned officers from the All Arms Battle School in Nyanga.

The graduates included 39 lieutenants who completed the Platoon Commanders Course and 30 captains who attained qualifications through the Advanced Company Group Commander Course. The milestone reflects the ZDF’s ongoing commitment to developing skilled leaders capable of safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and meeting evolving security challenges.

Guest of honour at the event, Zimbabwe National Army Chief of Staff General Staff, Major General Josphat Kudumba, implored the officers to uphold the highest standards of discipline, loyalty, and patriotism.

“As commanders, you are the backbone of our operational efficiency. The investments made in your training here by the government must reflect in your unwavering commitment to defending the gains of our liberation struggle and safeguarding the peace that anchors our national development toward Vision 2030,” he said.

The Commandant of the All Arms Battle School, Colonel Samson Murombo, highlighted that the rigorous curriculum left no stone unturned in testing the officers’ mental fortitude, physical endurance, and tactical decision-making capabilities under high-pressure scenarios.

“The graduation of these sixty-nine officers comes after months of gruelling, uncompromising training designed to push their mental and physical boundaries to the absolute limit,” he said.

Meanwhile, such programmes by the Zimbabwe National Army underscore the Second Republic’s ongoing commitment to building a highly professional, versatile and modern defence force capable of overcoming both conventional and asymmetric security threats.
