THE Zimbabwe senior national cricket team, the Chevrons, are gearing up for a crucial encounter against Botswana in the second group stage match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifiers at the Harare Sports Club this Sunday.

The goal is to build on the momentum gained from their impressive 5-wicket win over Uganda in the first group stage match.

Led by Coach Justin Sammons, the Chevrons are in a bid to secure one of the two coveted spots for the global showpiece.

The Chevrons are part of a competitive field featuring seven other teams, with the top two finishers in each group advancing to the semi-finals.

The finalists will not only battle for regional supremacy but also secure spots in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

Other key matches in the qualifier include Uganda seeking their first win of the tournament when they take on Tanzania, while Kenya clash with Malawi.

Namibia will be up against Nigeria in another exciting encounter.
