PROFESSOR Solwayo Ngwenya has been appointed substantive Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Mpilo Central Hospital in Bulawayo.
Professor Ngwenya had been leading the institution in an acting capacity for several years, overseeing its clinical operations while steering the hospital through key healthcare challenges.
His appointment recognises his leadership and contribution to healthcare delivery at one of Zimbabwe’s largest referral hospitals.
A respected public health expert, Professor Ngwenya has also been a prominent voice on national health issues, playing a key role in communicating public health information during the Covid-19 pandemic and contributing to the country’s health response.
