Zimbabwe to benefit from network and business opportunities at Japan’s largest exhibition in Osaka

ZIMBABWE is preparing to attend the Osaka Expo 2025, with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) saying the exhibition is an opportunity to foster increased cooperation with global nations such as Zimbabwe.

Dubbed the largest exhibition fair in Japan, Expo Osaka is a crucial meeting point for executives from participating countries to network and formulate synergies for economic growth.

Zimbabwe is among the nations set to participate in the fair, which offers lots of trade opportunities as explained by Japan International Cooperation Agency, Zambia Chief Representative, Mr Norihito Yonebayashi.

“Osaka meeting is an opportunity to grow our existing relations with nations such as Zimbabwe where we already have various engagements including infrastructural partnership. So, we are looking forward to growing this relationship and boosting trade between our nations,” said Mr Yonebayashi.

Japan’s footprint in Zimbabwe is visible through massive partnerships on various projects implemented under the Japan International Co-operation Agency (JICA).

Zimbabwe is already preparing for the expo, with ZIMTRADE Chief Executive Officer, Mr Allan Majuru having been appointed Commissioner General of the organising team, while several local firms are expected to participate.

A meeting held in May this year and attended by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade outlined the importance of the Osaka Expo as a key platform to promote trade with Japan.
