ZIMBABWE has risen to the global spotlight at the Miss Universe 2025 stage, standing tall as one of only three African nations to reach the Top 30 out of 120 countries in a dazzling finale held in Bangkok, where Mexico’s Fatima Bosch was crowned queen.
Representing Zimbabwe with poise and determination, Lyshanda Moyas earned a coveted place in the Top 30, competing against more than 100 contestants from across the world.
She proudly joins Rwanda and Côte d’Ivoire as the only African nations to qualify for this elite group, marking a significant moment for the continent and an even bigger milestone for Zimbabwe.
Lyshanda’s achievement follows a demanding week of high-pressure events, including fashion showcases and the national costume parade, designed to progressively narrow down the field towards the final Miss Universe crown.
Although she narrowly missed out on a Top 12 position, her qualification once again places Zimbabwe on the global pageant map.
Adding to the country’s presence on the world stage, Miss Universe Zimbabwe Board Chair, Colonel Miniyothabo Chiwenga, served on the international selection panel, further cementing Zimbabwe’s influence at this year’s edition.
For many, Lyshanda’s performance is more than just a personal triumph, it represents the continued rise of Zimbabwean pageantry, coming just a year after Sakhile Dube also secured a Top 30 placement.
