President Mnangagwa promotes Brigadier General Mhonda to Major General

COMMANDER-in-Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa has promoted Brigadier General Fidelis Mhonda to the rank of Major General with effect from June 22.

The investiture ceremony, held in Harare this Tuesday, saw Commander Zimbabwe Defence Forces, General Emmanuel Matatu conferring the new rank on Major General Fidelis Mhonda.

In his promotion appreciation speech, Major General Mhonda appreciated the recognition by the Commander-In-Chief.

“I am truly honoured to stand before you here today receiving this promotion of the rank of Major General. It is a meaningful moment in my career, and I want to thank the Commander-In-Chief, Head of State and Government and the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, President Mnangagwa, through CDF and Commander ZNA, for believing in me and giving me this opportunity to grow and promote me to this rank,” he said.

“I am also deeply grateful to my colleagues who were challenging me, inspired me and supported me on every step of the way. This promotion is not just a personal milestone, it reflects the incredible teamwork and collaboration I have experienced.”

The event, held at Defence House, brought together senior commanders from the Zimbabwe National Army, Air Force of Zimbabwe and other Service Chiefs.
