COMMANDER in Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called on the newly graduated cadets of the Zimbabwe Military Academy to guard jealously the independence and solidarity that the country and region enjoys.

As he addressed the 40th Commissioning Parade for the Regular Officer Cadet, President Mnangagwa said the maintenance of peace and call to silence the guns is a key component in the achievement of sustainable development within the country and beyond.

He said it is his expectation that academies such as the ZMA produce well-rounded officers of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces who honour and cherish the supreme sacrifice of fallen heroes of the country’s liberation struggle.

The commander in chief applauded the increase of female cadets in the programme thereby including women in the development and peace efforts of the country while imploring the Zimbabwe Military Academy to infuse the evolving technological space in the knowledge transfer to cadets of the ZDF.
