ZBC’s third golf day scores big for charity and corporate engagement

THE third edition of the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) Golf Day teed off this Friday at Chapman Golf Club, exceeding expectations with a strong turnout and an overwhelmingly positive response from the corporate world.

Key stakeholders from various industries, including mining, service provision, aviation, and tourism, converged on the golf course, showcasing the power of sport to foster business partnerships.

“The golf tournament started on a very good note. We are happy, and everything transpired according to script. The turnout from corporates was very impressive, surpassing our target,” said ZBC Chief Executive Officer, Mr Sugar Chagonda.

The Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Dr Jenfan Muswere, officially opened the event with the tee-off ceremony.

“I would like to encourage all stakeholders and the corporate world to continue participating in initiatives like the ZBC Golf Day, which not only promote corporate social responsibility but also support worthy causes that benefit our communities. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children and contribute to the development of our nation,” he said.

Proceeds from the event will support vulnerable children in accessing basic education, underscoring ZBC’s commitment to giving back to the community.

The success of the ZBC Golf Day highlights the importance of sport in building partnerships and driving social impact.
