THE ZANU PF Youth League is preparing for the National Youth Assembly set to take place on August 14, with young people praising the ruling party for leading youth empowerment initiatives

The Youth League convened interdistrict meetings across Mashonaland Central province this Friday, with youth empowerment programmes coming under review.

ZANU PF Youth League Secretary for Production and Labour, Cde McDonald Mbungo, said the youth are benefiting from several empowerment programs initiated by the ruling party.

“We were preparing for the national assembly on August 14, as we will be preparing to meet the head of state. We got the youth empowerment fund, youth business units are being established, and they are on the ground. Our President has the youth’s interests at heart,” he noted.

The party’s Mount Darwin District Chairman, Cde Clopas Jaji, said the youths recommended President Mnangagwa to remain in office until 2030 to continue with the ongoing development drive.

“The meeting we had was the district conference, we are preparing to go to the conference, we made resolutions, and we agreed that President Mnangagwa should continue to be in office until 2030,” he said.

However, President Emmerson Mnangagwa says he will not go beyond his current term, which ends in 2028.

Youths in Mount Darwin were called upon to exploit the grassroots empowerment programs so that they would not be left behind.

“We want to thank President Mnangagwa for what he is doing, especially for the young people. He is considering that we must have something in our lives, we launched the youth empowerment fund to prepare for our future,” ZANU PF Youth League member, Cde Kudzanai Hiya added.

“We want to thank the programmes being done by our President Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa, especially us as women, we are being uplifted, as women we used to be looked down upon,” ZANU PF Youth League member, Cde Chiedza Chimbudzi said.

The inter-district meeting falls at a time when youths in Mashonaland Central acquired automotive machinery purchased through the youth empowerment fund, which they are utilising to generate more revenue.
