THE Young Mighty Warriors face a crucial test this Sunday when they take on Uganda Women’s U-17 National Team in the opening round of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup African qualifiers.

The first leg will be played at Ngoni Stadium, with the return fixture scheduled between April 17 and 19 in Uganda.

The winner over two legs will advance to the second round, where they will face either Namibia women’s national under-17 football team or Kenya women’s national under-17 football team next month.

A total of 31 African nations are competing for qualification, navigating three knockout rounds played on a home-and-away basis.

Only four teams will ultimately secure tickets to represent the continent at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup finals in Morocco.\
