ZIMBABWE suffered their fourth defeat in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers after going down 1-nil to Rwanda in a match played at Orlando Stadium in South Africa this Tuesday.

The defeat is the fourth in the current campaign, after previous losses to Benin, South Africa and Lesotho.

The Warriors are also yet to win a match after drawing twice against Nigeria, while also sharing the spoils with Benin and Rwanda.

Zimbabwe’s biggest challenge has been goals in eight World Cup qualifiers, the Warriors have managed just five goals while letting in 11.

This Tuesday was no different, but Warriors coach Michael Nees believes the goals will come.

“We wanted a win, we wanted to turn this result pandemic but we could not manage that. I am not happy with the result, but with the performance, I am happy we pushed and pushed, but we have to find a way to put the ball into the back of the net. If we continue working together, the goals will come, it is a matter of time, but we will find the goals.”

The Warriors will be back to World Cup qualifiers next month when they face South Africa and Lesotho in their last two encounters.
