THE stage is set for the 2024 OK Grand Challenge horse racing event which will be held this Saturday, with trainers anticipating a competitive outing at Borrowdale Racecourse in Harare.
Trainer, Thomas Mason has six horses in the OK Grand Challenge this Saturday and among them is True Beauty, a former Castle Tankard winner.
Although none of his horses is a favourite after last month’s Castle Tankard won by Raffles, Mason is optimistic one of his horses will land the grand prize.
“We have worked hard to get our horses in top form, and I believe we have a good chance of winning,” he said.
Raffles’ trainer, Bridget Stidolph, has four horses ready for Saturday’s race, setting the stage for a thrilling contest.
The 36th edition of the OK Grand Challenge has attracted a field of 15 horses, with an increased sponsorship of US$90 000 up from last year’s US$70 000.
