Story by Lawrence Trusida
FADING Harare giants Dynamos have appointed Saul Chaminuka as their head coach, taking over from Lloyd Chigowe who has been reassigned.
The nomadic Chaminuka joins the Glamour Boys from struggling Kwekwe United where he was suspended after a string of poor results.
The veteran coach was well sort-after last season, after almost guiding Black Rhinos to survive the chop having joined them mid-season.
Chaminuka, who almost guided then new-boys ZPC Kariba to premiership glory in 2014 before missing the title on the last day, joins Dynamos in all sorts of problems languishing in 16th position with eight points from 11 matches.
His first task will be to lead DeMbare against an equally struggling CAPS United in a Harare Derby set for Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.
The soft-spoken Chaminuka, who has seen duty at Black Rhinos, Kwekwe, Green Fuel as well as other foreign clubs will be assisted by former Dynamos midfielder and assistant coach Philemon Mutyakureva.
Mutyakureva served in a similar role at Dynamos for three years between 2012 and 2014, helping to oversee one of the most successful periods in the club’s history.
Takesure Chinyama has been retained as the forwards coach while former Motor Action goalkeeper Marlon Jani will be the goalkeepers coach, with Ronald Sibanda being retained as the team manager.
Former coach Lloyd ‘MaBlanyo’ Chigowe has been reassigned to lead the club’s developmental structure.
