THE highly anticipated 17th edition of the Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo has officially commenced in Bulawayo.
The first day of the event was marked by the Zimbabwe Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) Masterclass, where industry experts gathered to discuss the development of MICE infrastructure and its potential to boost the country’s tourism sector.
Representing the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry at the conference, the deputy minister, Mr Tongai Mnangangwa highlighted how MICE tourism is key in the development of Zimbabwe’s tourism sector.
Key speakers provided valuable insights into the strategies needed to position Zimbabwe as a leading MICE destination and the need for the development of MICE infrastructure.
Another speaker, Mrs Irene Goto from the Infrastructure Development Bank of Zimbabwe, highlighted the need for financial support to capacity MICE tourism.
