PRESIDENT Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa has conveyed his condolences to the Government and people of Botswana following the death of former President Festus Mogae.
In a statement, President Dr Mnangagwa described the late former President Mogae as a distinguished statesman, principled leader, and committed pan-Africanist who served Botswana with honour and distinction.
He said the former Botswana leader will be remembered for his dedication to peace, good governance, and regional integration within the Southern African Development Community and across the African continent.
The President also acknowledged the late former President’s contribution towards the establishment of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme.
Former Botswana President Mogae died today at the age of 86.
