THE Pan-Pan-African Parliament is advancing the rights of the girl child for the continent to achieve its development goals anchored on inclusivity.
In a session chaired by the newly elected Pan-African Parliament (PAP) First Vice President Dr Fatimetou Habib of Mauritania in Midrand, South Africa, this Wednesday, PAP legislators were unanimous on the need to strengthen the rights of women and girls for Africa to achieve inclusive development.
Chairperson of the PAP Committee on Education Honourable Koudio Kouakou Bertin weighed in emphasising the importance of empowering the girl child through education.
The move is in line with the African Union theme of the year, which focuses on educating an African fit for the 21st century and building resilient education systems for increased access to inclusive, lifelong, quality and relevant learning in Africa.
