Lady Chevrons seek victory to keep T20 series alive

Story by Raynald Ngwarati

THE Zimbabwe Women’s Cricket team the Lady Chevrons are out for retribution when they face off with Ireland in the second T20 International at Harare Sports Club this Sunday.

Duty awaits the Lady Chevrons again this Sunday as they seek to draw level the T20 International series against Ireland at Harare Sports Club.

Captain Mary Anne Musonda and her charges will have to refuel their energy tanks and improve their all-round play if they are to inflict a series levelling defeat on a confident Irish side.

Having taken a day off the field of play, the Lady Chevrons need to produce something special from all aspects of the game if they are to rescue the five-match series after losing to the Irish women by 57 runs in the opening match at Harare Sports Club.

The bowling department has a huge challenge awaiting them knowing that Ireland can punish any loose delivery and go on to post a huge total like the whooping 191 runs they scored in the first encounter.

Amy Hunter who led the big hitting party for the visitors with an unbeaten century off 66 balls will be a key topic in the Lady Chevrons’ dressing room as they seek for a solution to keep her at bay.

Kudzai Chigora and Kelilis Ndlovu who were hit for a combined 90 runs in just eight overs, will be seeking to revenge on the big hitters as well as the home team seeks to tame the visitors.
